Ways of Working with Children
March 24, 2009 (CONFIRMED)
Sarà presente una volotaria per aiutare nella traduzione
Teatro dell’Istituto Leonarda Vaccari di Roma Viale Angelico 20/22 ORE 15,00

We would like to invite you to our Workshop on Ways of Working with Children.
Our presentation will be centered on experiences with some very short theory. Our hope is that you will be able to take experiences and tools from this presentation and use them with children in any setting. The workshops are designed to help people to have clear communication with children.  Ways will be given to help children express their thoughts and feelings in a clear way, to be self confident, to be creative and to appreciate nature.
A short presentation of the Person Centered Theory will be given and how we use it in our work with children in psychotherapy, schools, in the Kids’ Workshop and other settings.
The importance of Play will be emphasized. Puppets will be introduced and we will demonstrate how we use them. Everyone will have a chance to play with a puppet.
Other tools such as art, music, stories and nature will be introduced.  We find that children respond to many experiences around the Native American Indian Philosophy and we will offer some of these to you.
The workshop will be presented by Barbara and Heather Williams.  Barbara is the creator and trainer of facilitators of Kids’ Workshop™, an innovative and preventative program for children.  Her work is praised in Carl Rogers book, A Way of Being.  Barbara and Heather are from Colorado and present programs internationally and have been staff members of the Person Centered Approach Institute in Italy since 1994 and in France since 2003.  They have also worked with the Navajo people in the Navajo Nation.  Their work is based in part on the philosophies of Carl Rogers and Virginia Satir.
